Here is your short paragraph on First World War !
The World War I was between the periods from 1914-1919 and was an extremely bloody war. More than 10 million military deaths and about 20 million wounded, World War I had little ground loss or won. It is also known as The Great War.
The spark that started the World War I was the assassination of Austria`s Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie.
On his visit to the city of Sarajevo he was assassinated on June 28, 1914. The war was fought by the Allies and the Central Powers. The Allies fought on one side and the central powers fought on the other side. The Central Powers were Germany, Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria etc. The Allies were Russia, France, Serbi, Belgium, etc. These were the two main forces by the time the war started.
From 1914 to 1917, soldiers from both the sides fought from their trenches. But when they were ordered a fully fledged attack, they had to leave these trenches which were in fact a safety place for them. The intensity was so high that when soldiers would leave trenches and try reaching the other side through no man`s land, most of them would be dead. Eventually it reached a stage where, the side having more men would win the war. By the 1917, Allies were losing on men.
At this phase, though the United States was not intending to join the war, for reasons which provoked them, they finally declared war on Germany in 1917 April 6th. As the war proceeded and millions dead, it reached a stage were, an end was seen and finally at the end of 1918, an armistice was agreed upon finally. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the war was to be bought to an end.
In the following months, diplomats compromised and argued in order to come up with the Versailles Treaty (peace treaty), which bought an end to the World War I, but however because of the several number of terms and controversies, it lead to the World War II.
World War I was one of a kind and is remembered as the one of the bloodiest war in history, for the number of people who were being slaughtered during the war.
