Here is your short paragraph on Ajanta caves:

Rock-cut caves set deep in the Sahyadri hills near Aurangabad of Maharashtra. Caves are known world-wide for the images of royal life, lives of humble people, depiction of the Buddhist, Jataka tales, sculpture and architectural designs.

In Ajanta, two basic types of monastic Buddhist architecture are preserved, the Chaitya or Prayer Hall (Cave Nos. 9, 10, 19, 26 & 29) and Vihara or monastry (remaining 25 caves). It has a large relief depicting the death of the Buddha lying on a bed.

This is one of the main attractions for the tourists world-wide for its artistic merits and also for Buddhist pilgrims.
